DeathSprint 66
Made in Unreal Engine 5
DeathSprint 66 is an online 3rd person bi-pedal racer set in a deadly future game show. I worked on this project from conception through to release. Some of the main things I did within this project were:
-
I was a feature owner for the abilities/ability system which involved leading a small team and planning our sprints/milestones as well as owning the design.
-
Designed & created GDD’s for 16 abilities as well as the initial balancing for the weighted distribution system (8 made it to release due to budget/time constraints).
-
Created mechanics such as: Pickups, Traps & Abilities.
-
Created tools to help with level design such as measurement tools and toggleable features.
-
Created level design/owned one of the first set of levels which unfortunately didn’t make it to release.
-
Created Gyms to test and perfect our 3C’s.
-
Designed input mapping for KBM & Gamepad for general gameplay and abilities.
-
Designed the initial scoring system before we cut it back to focus more on the racing elements rather than the tricks.
-
Proposed/designed how we could make a more advanced version of our game through the addition of characters and classes with set active and passive abilities to add depth and increase the skill ceiling which was cut back due to budget.
-
Researched & documented reference titles.
-
Helped with playtests and compiling/editing video footage for milestones.
-
Kept Confluence and Jira up to date.
Released: September 2024
Platforms: PC & Steam Deck
